Ikpeazu Inaugurates Special Taskforce on Fuel Stations

……Charges Taskforce to eradicate illegal fuel depots .

The Governor of Abia state , Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has inaugurated the Abia State Special Taskforce on Petroleum and Fuel Stations with a charge to work hard to eradicate all illegal fuel depots in the state .

Inaugurating the committee at Government House Umuahia, Ikpeazu charged them to eradicate all illegal fuel depots at private compounds, wrong metering through which fuel dealers shortchange the public, check hoarding and overpricing of petroleum products.

The governor who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Prof. A.C.B Agbazuere implored the team not to see their nomination as compensation or avenue to amass wealth and create bad image for the state but a call to serve.

The Governor further reminded them that the ministry of petroleum remains the supervisory ministry as he will not accept any form of conflict, also assured them of government support to enable them carry out their assignment effectively.

Responding on behalf of the committee, the Chairman of the task force , Chief Dannie Ubani expressed appreciation over their nomination adding that they see their nomination as a privilege and promised to work hard to give Abians quality service delivery.

Members of the committee include, Ahuruonye Darlington who is to serve as secretary, Collins Vincent, Prince Max Amanze, Nwazuo Steve and James Nnamdi.

Others are Bright Alaribe, Alibion Dada, Iheanyi Nwogu,
Emeka Ihekaumuna, Collins Ogbonna, Chinweoke Anyatonwu and Obioma Nwachukwu.

The rest are Representative of the Police, Representative of the Army, Representative of the Department of State Security Services (DSS) and
Representative of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).

The Abia state Commissioner for Petroleum Resources, Chief Eze Nwanganga, his Homeland Security counterpart, Hon. Sopuruchi Bekee among other notable personalities that witnessed the inauguration.
