Bauchi Govt Trains 216 Principals on e-Learning Teaching Method

The Bauchi State Government says it has trained 216 principals to enhance application of ICT in teaching and learning in schools across the state.

Mr. Aliyu Tilde, the Commissioner for Education made this known at the inauguration of the two-day e-learning training exercise on Monday in Bauchi.

He said the training exercise was being implemented under the Nigeria Learning Passport project designed to enhance teaching and learning in schools.

Tilde said the participants would be exposed to the technicalities involved in e-learning teaching methods with a view to adopt it in their respective schools.

He said the state government had procured computers, tablets and other relevant e-learning facilities to fast track adaptation of the programme in schools.

The commissioner said the participants were drawn from public and private schools, adding that they were expected to step down the training in their respective schools.

Tilde urged the participants to pay attention to the training exercise and use what they would learn to improve teaching and learning process in the schools.

“We will examine you after the training and issue certificate of attendance at the end of the exercise,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the state government has distributed 18,600 text books public secondary schools in the state.
