From Victor Nwegede, Abakaliki

Ebonyi PDP Gubernatorial Aspirant, Chief Anayo Nwonu has vowed to liberate the state from its alleged current servitude if he emerged governor in 2023.

Chief Nwonu, who is a two-term member representing Ezza North-Ishielu Federal Constituency stated this on Saturday during his official declaration at his campaign office in Abakaliki town?

According to him, “I am aspiring to become the next Governor of Ebonyi because I believe I can effectively lead to rescue Ebonyi, our beloved state from the abject conditions of my people which always provoke tears in my eyes.”

Nwonu said that his administration would focus on good governance, running an open, accessible and accountable government throughout his stay in office as governor.

The Federal Lawmaker maintained that his rescue mission would be built on a free educational system, enhancement of the healthcare sector and creation of jobs for unemployed people in Ebonyi if elected as the governor of the state in 2023.

He proposed an eight-point agenda on good governance, education, health and wellbeing, job creation, social investment, agriculture, security and peace as well as industrial development, saying with these, his administration would change the existing horrible stories of Ebonyi people.

He expressed readiness to unite the state as a grassroots politician, believing that his antecedents at the Green Chambers, would pave way for his victory both during the primary and general elections, as he pledged to do more if given the mandate to be governor in 2023.
