2023: Bauchi Students Endorse Mohammed for Second Term

A coalition of students’ union groups in Bauchi State, yesterday, endorsed the second term bid of the state governor, Senator Bala Mohammed.  

The students under the aegis of Kaura Students Support Forum, comprises the 20 local government area student union presidents, National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS), Bauchi South Student Association (BASSA), Bauchi Central Student Association (BACSA), Katagum Students Association (KSA).

National Chairman of the forum, Comrade Sani Adamu, who addressed journalists in Bauchi, said they took the decision, following Governor Mohammed’s achievements in the education sector.

He listed the achievements to include payment of bursary to indigenous students of Bauchi state studying in tertiary institutions across the country as well as clearing of outstanding payments for Bauchi students on scholarships, accumulated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

Others include award of scholarships for Bauchi State students to study abroad; payment of WAEC, NECO and JAMB examination fees to the students across the 20 councils of the state; construction of classrooms in secondary and primary schools in the state as well as renovation of hundreds of primary and secondary schools, among others.

Adamu also listed other achievements of the governor to include human capital development under the Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme (KEEP) and infrastructural revolution in the state.

The students’ leader, who described Governor Mohammed as “a father, an icon of youths/students’ motivation, a pathfinder in progress, a gentle and honest leader of 21st century,” said the body will mobilize thousands of its members to ensure his victory in the forthcoming governorship election.

“Senator Bala Mohammed’s legacy projects are not just a credit to him alone but to the entire Bauchi students and youths, so we will re-elect him to serve again as governor of Bauchi State in the 2023 general election,” Adamu said.
