After 5months, Police recover Ebonyi’s Auctioned baby, Arrest Suspects

Ebonyi State Police command has recovered the five (5) month old baby, Ola Echebu Chima, who was auctioned by her biological mother on April 2022 for 500 hundred thousand Naira.

The Police spokesman in the state, SP Chris Anyanwi made this known while briefing newsmen in Abakaliki.

Anyanwu said the child has been handed back to his mother by the police, saying the suspected child trafficker, Mrs. Anna Mma Elechi has been arrested.

The Police Mouthpiece revealed that the suspected Child trafficker who runs an illegal maternity home in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State bought the child and resold him to another person.

He confirmed that all the parties involved in the act has been arrested.

The mother of the child Miss Ola Chima who claimed to have missed her child said that it was an act of hardship that made her sell the baby.

She noted that her family told her that the man who is responsible for the pregnancy is dead not knowing he is still alive.

Nevertheless, her acclaimed husband, Mr. Uche Ogbonna who is responsible for the pregnancy said he had the intention to marry her but her family members took her away from him which made them lose connection.
