Bauchi Govt, Al-Muhibbah Institute to Partner on Capacity Building

The Bauchi State Government has pledged to support and partner with the Al-Muhibbah Institute for the training of civil servants and political office-holders on information technology.

This was contained in a press statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity Alhaji Mukhtar Gidado.

According to the Special Adviser, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed gave the pledge recently while delivering a keynote address at the opening of Al-Muhibbah Institute in Abuja.

The governor said considering the importance of ICT towards enhancing and improving good governance, providing empowerment opportunities among others, his administration will continue to seek partnership with the private sector in developing the capacity of youth and women on information technology.

The governor who applauded the First Lady of Bauchi State, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, who is the founder of the Institute, for her foresight to establish the Institute, appreciated her modest contribution to educational development of the country.

“I am happy that the Institute was established by my dear wife and I am very proud to be here. We acknowledge her contribution to societal development and I congratulate you for engaging experts to manage the Institute.”

Governor Bala Mohammed therefore declared total commitment of his administration at providing policies and programmes that will assist the youth and women to be self-reliant, to enable them to contribute positively to the growth and development of the state.

In her remark, the Bauchi State First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, who is the founder of the Institute, said the Institute was established on the principle of creating opportunities for youth and women to attain their full potentials through skill acquisition and vocational education.

Praying for success

She said the Al-Muhibbah Institute will not relent in contributing to nation-building by complementing government’s effort at providing qualitative education to the citizenry.

“This Institute is to bridge the gap between skills and knowledge and therefore we call on the private sector to collaborate with us by considering the Institute as a life changing platform required to prosper.”

“Let me use this opportunity to once again express my gratitude to my dear husband, His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed for supporting me to come up with this initiative and I say thank you to our partners like University of Maiduguri and Kaduna Polytechnic.”

Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed while congratulating the students of the Institute, urged them to embrace the culture of excellence, determination and prayers to enable them to excel in their future endeavors.
