BAUCHI STATE GOVERNOR, BALA MOHAMMED, HONOURED AS NEW TELEGRAPH’S HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR 2023

In a grand ceremony held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos on February 2nd, 2024, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, was bestowed with the prestigious Governor of the Year 2023 award by the New Telegraph Newspaper for his exceptional contributions to health infrastructure. According to Mr. Ayodele Aminu, Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of the New Telegraph Newspaper, Senator Bala Mohammed’s recognition as the Health Infrastructure Governor of the Year 2023 underscores his transformative leadership and commitment to the well-being of Bauchi State citizens.

These achievements, he said, not only reflect positively on the governor’s administration but also serve as a model for sustainable development in the broader context of governance.

In a statement at the weekend in Bauchi, the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, said that the award serves as a resounding acknowledgment of Governor Mohammed’s exemplary leadership and dedication to advancing the healthcare sector in Bauchi State. His proactive measures, Gidado said, enhance health infrastructure, implement effective health policies, secure counterpart funding, and foster partnerships with donor organizations.

Noting that under Senator Bala Mohammed’s visionary leadership, the healthcare sector has experienced unprecedented progress, with a particular focus on elevating infrastructure standards, he pointed out that health institutions in the state are now equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities, cutting-edge technology and staffed by proficient healthcare professionals.

Dwelling on specifics, Mukhtar disclosed that Senator Bala Mohammed’s strategic investments have led to the construction and renovation of primary health centres across all 324 wards in the state, addressing the longstanding issue of inadequate healthcare facilities in remote areas. “This proactive approach has significantly improved accessibility and contributed to reducing healthcare disparities among different regions of Bauchi State”, Mukhtar said.
