Be Loyal to Constituted Authority Commissioner Charges Akwa Ibom Women

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Ini Adiakpan has charged women to be loyal to the constituted authority in the State, saying that loyalty is not 99%, but 100% percent.

The Commissioner gave the charge during the National Council For Women Societies, investiture of female Chairmen and wives of council Chairmen (WALGON) at the Women Development Centre, IBB Avenue, Uyo.

She admonished the women to mentor the younger women to take up responsibilities in order to have a good and justifiable change of baton.

Dr. Adiakpan tasked women not to be less concerned on the issues of abuse and rape in their communities

The Commissioner appreciated the State Governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel and his wife, Dr. Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel for being gender-friendly which has brought about the inclusion of women in the administration.

She opined that this could be seen as more females occupy both elective and appointive offices.

According to her, women should learn to appreciate, compliment and help each other to grow rather than going into competition or rivalry.

The Commissioner admonished them to adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines as the world is currently experiencing the third wave of the pandemic.

The highpoint of the invent was the investiture of the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Dr. Ini Adiakpan as the patron of Akwa Ibom State National Council of Women Societies and investiture of female Chairmen of Councils and wives of chairmen in the 31 Local Government Areas.
