Developing Orumba is Key in My Agenda-Soludo

Prof Chukwuma Soludo, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA gubernatorial candidate for the November 6 Anambra governorship election has assured the people of Orumba that part of his agenda is to bring development to area if elected governor of the state.
Soludo who gave the assurance recently while addressing a stakeholders meeting organised by the people of Orumba, said he still cherishes that sense of nostalgic feelings toward Orumba as being part of the Old Aguata.
He recalled that the Old Aguata Union (OAU) comprising of the former 45 communities had honoured him with a chieftaincy title before and till today he cherishes that honour and recognition bestowed on him by the people
The former CBN Governor said he still believes in the bond and communalism that existed in the former Old Aguata which use to comprise of Orumba.
“OAU is me and Aguata is still the same 45 communities of OAU. That is the way I will live and that is the way I will die,” Soludo said in an emotionally laden voice
Cee Cee Soludo thereafter went ahead to express gratitude to the people of Orumba for their support for his governorship bid adding that it is only when people are organised that they can get power
He said Orumba is a blessed land with brilliant and outstanding sons and daughters. He harped on the need to re-enact the glorious future of OAU which seems to be in the past. He also stressed on the need to have an agenda that will drive developmental traffic from the world to Orumba.
“We need an Agenda to drive traffic from the world in terms of development to Orumba” Soludo stated
The Professor of Economics also told his audience that “it is only those who plan that can control the future”.
Soludo therefore emphasised on the need for the people to close ranks and bond together with a view to attracting development to Orumba.
“For us to attract development to Orumba, there must be a considerable orchestrated plan to make it happen” Soludo counselled
He added that with the green virgin land in Awa and other communities within that part of Orumba, his government will develop a blueprint to fast-track development in those communities if elected governor of Anambra State.
Soludo appreciated the stakeholders who were at the meeting and called on them to join hands with him towards building a greater Anambra. He also received special blessings from all the Igwes present at the occasion who gathered round him and prayed fervently for God to take absolute control over his journey to Anambra State Government House (Agu Awka)
Speaking earlier, the chairman of the occasion, HRH, Igwe Godwin Ezeilo, Obu Nanka of Nanka, commended Soludo and pledged the support of the people for his governorship ambition.
In his remarks, Dr Ben Nwankwo, former member of the Federal House of Representatives, who hosted the event, recalled the significant contributions of Orumba to the political and economic development of the State.
Other dignitaries at the event include: Hon Emeka Aforka, Deputy Majority Leader, Anambra House of Assembly; Hon Emma Nwafor, Member Representing Orumba South; Hon Mike Okonkwo, Commissioner for Housing and urban development; High Chief (Sir) Osita Ezechukwu, Hon Chike Anyaonu, Chief Joe Anatune, Pharm Chima Okoli, Chief Christian Onyemelukwe, and several others.
