EDON Dumps APC, Picks LP Gubernatorial Ticket

An Ebonyi State-born Industrialist, Arc Edward Nkwegu, popularly known as EDON, has picked the gubernatorial ticket of the Labor Party for Ebonyi State for the 2023 general elections.
Nkwegu on Tuesday, was declared winner of the sole ticket as he emerged unopposed as the Labor Party flag bearer for the 2023 polls in the state. He was declared the winner of the governorship ticket by the party’s returning officer, Mrs. Oluchi Okpara, who conducted the primary election.
In his acceptance speech, Nkwegu, said he was humbled by the victory and expressed strong gratitude to the party delegates for the confidence reposed in him.
The governorship hopeful assured the LP members and his supporters that the party would emerge victorious in the state come 2023 general elections.
Our correspondent reports that a former House of Reps member and Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Linus Okorie, a Governorship Aspirant of the PDP, Chief Eze Emmanuel, a Chieftain of the party, Anselem Enigwe, former Commissioner for Education in the state, Prince Chibueze Agbo have also decamped Labor Party.
Okorie was learnt to have equally become the Ebonyi South Senatorial candidate of the LP, Enigwe, Eze and Agbo are Senatorial and House of Representatives candidates of the party for the forthcoming general election.
The candidates and stakeholders of the party witnessed the election of Nkwegu as the state governorship standard-bearer.
