Enugu Multi-Door Courthouse Seeks NUJ Collaboration In Alternative Dispute Resolution

The Enugu State Multi-Door Courthouse has called for collaboration with the state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) for its Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
The court’s Head of Business Development and Advocacy, Ifunanya Ngwachukwu, made the call when the officials of the court visited the State Working Committee (SWC) of the council on Wednesday.

Ngwachukwu said the collaboration was necessary to ensure adequate dissemination of information about the existence of the courthouse in settling issues outside the court.
Explaining further, another official, Mrs Febechi Nwagbo, listed Mediation, Arbitration and Hybrid as ways of resolving disputes. Nwagbo further said that the essence of ADR is to achieve a consensus in justice resolution.

She said, “Multi-Door Courthouse can handle court referrals, malicious damage, assault, minor cases and others.”

Responding, the Chairman of the SWC, Mr Sam Udekwe, gave assurance that the union would do its best to assist in creating the necessary awareness about the existence and activities of the courthouse.
