NDE Disburses N1.4m to 74 Businesses in Bauchi

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) says it has disbursed N1.4 million to 74 micro business owners in Bauchi State.
NDE Coordinator in the state, Mr Lawan Yaya stated this during the loan disbursement exercise on Thursday in Bauchi.
He said the facility was provided to the beneficiaries under its Micro Enterprises Enhancement Scheme (MEES).
He said that the Director-General of NDE, Malam Nuhu Fikpo thought it wise to improve on the existing micro and small businesses of industrious Nigerians and came up with the initiative.
The Coordinator said the beneficiaries had been exposed to basic business skills under its Small Scale Enterprise Department.
Yaya said that each of the 74 beneficiaries would received N20,000 loans to be repaid within three years, adding that this would enable them to improve their businesses.
“They have a moratorium period of six months before starting repayment of the loan and repayment would be based on the nature of their businesses,” he said.
He urged the beneficiaries to utilise the money judiciously for the purpose it was meant.
One of the beneficiaries, Sunusi Mohammad lauded the gesture, adding it would improve their businesses.

Police Pledge to Arrest Killers of LP Candidate in Enugu (General)
The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, Mr Ahmed Ammani, has ordered intensive manhunt of those who killed Mr Oyibo Chukwu, the senatorial candidate of Labour Party (LP) in the state on Wednesday. This is contained in a statement issued by the command spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, in Enugu on Thursday.
Suspected members of Eastern Security Network murdered the LP candidate for Enugu East Senatorial Zone, Chief Oyibo Chukwu.
The hoodlums also burnt to death a member of the Peoples Democratic Party and attacked the convoy of the All Progressive Congress Governorship Candidate in the state.
The Commissioner who visited scenes of the incidents, strongly condemned the barbaric acts, commiserated with the political parties and family members of the deceased.
He vowed to ensure that the perpetrators are fished out and made to face the full wrath of the law.
Ammani said the command and other security agencies were ready for the hoodlums and had emplaced security measures for peaceful and credible elections in the state.
The commissioner urged the citizens not to succumb to the cowardly antics of the hoodlums, “which are aimed at creating fear and disrupting the electoral process”.
