Royal Father Tasks Subjects on Peace, Unity

The Andoma of Doma in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu-Ogah, has urged his subjects at home and in the Diaspora to live peacefully with each other to engender development.

The first class traditional ruler also advised his people to always unite and co-exist peacefully with their neighbours.

He said such act would attract the desired progress to and within the kingdom, the state and indeed the country at large.

The Andoma of Doma spoke in his palace in Domaon Sunday, when some prominent sons of the area, who were conferred with traditional titles, paid him a “Thank You” visit.

Aliyu-Ogah said he decided to confer the traditional titles on the recipients based on their contributions to the development of Doma chiefdom and the state at large.

The royal father explained that he only bestowed traditional titles on people of reputable character who have contributed meaningfully in one way or the other to the progress of the society.

Aliyu-Ogah said the honour was to encourage others to live exemplary lives, in any position, for the general good of the country.

He therefore called on those conferred with the traditional titles to live above board.

He further charged his people to be productive in whatever they do for the area to move forward.

The monarch urged his people, both at home and in the Diaspora, to do “everything possible to reposition the kingdom on the path of progress”.

He said such would facilitate the socio-economic development of “Doma Chiefdom”.

The traditional ruler also admonished them to make meaningful investments in the area, to boost the development of the area, the state and Nigeria in general.

He however commended his subjects for living in harmony with one another and urged them to sustain the peaceful co-existence amongst them.

The Andoma of Doma also commended the people of the area for their support to his peace agenda, adding that peace is a basic ingredient for development.

NAN reports that those conferred with the traditional titles included Mr Henry Omaku as Adagbagi of Doma, Alhaji Umaru Yawole as Sarkin Bai of Domaand Yakubu Balarabe as Barwan Doma.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the new Barwan Doma, appreciated the Andoma for the honour done to them and assured of their commitment to continue to contribute their quota to the development of the area and the state.

He assured they they would not fail the Andoma, Doma Emirate and the state in the discharge of their responsibilities.
