We Must Encourage Gov Udom Emmanuel in Maintaining Peace in AKS- Frank Archibong

As the Maintain Peace Movement gains momentum across the Akwa Ibom State, the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Frank Archibong, has called on citizens to encourage and support Governor Udom Emmanuel in Maintaining peace in the State.

Aechibong, who was inaugurated as the Eket Chapter coordinator of MPM, advised Nigerians to emulate developed world and from what Governor Udom Emmanuel is doing in Akwa Ibom State. He noted that Nigeria is technically gone because the country is not safe to traverse and preach peace to the people at the grassroot as it is done in the State, assuring that he will serve diligently.

“I accept the offer to serve as the Eket Chapter coordinator of MPM by fostering Peace, enabling Peace, maintaining peace and sustaining peace because peace is all we need right now for other things to follow”

“Our team, including the Advisers is a composition of a squared peg in a squared hole and, we will stop at nothing to ensure peace is preached and maintained in Eket. In encouraging this peace, what we must do is to encourage the advocate of this initiative,  Governor Udom Emmanuel by standing behind him and supporting him in every actions and directives and should the Governor has an interest on who succeeds him, Eket people will not hesitate to support him because such a successor will be a man of peace”.

In a goodwill message by the Political leader of Eket Senatorial District,Rt. Hon. (Chief) Nduese Essien, submitted that there is no alternative medium to attract development to the society than embracing peace. The former two term national Assembly member said that the Maintain Peace Movement is a mission to remind us that there is need for peace.

Chairman of Eket LGA, Mr. Akan Tommey , in his welcome remark, acknowledged that there is absolute peace in Eket LGA. The Council boss, said “For us to sustain the Peace we have enjoyed; we will continue to support the Udom Emmanuel led-administration and promote the growth of PDP.

Chairman of the Maintain peace Movement, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, while inaugurating the Eket Chapter, acknowledged that Eket has remained a great partner in the developmental process  and peace in Akwa Ibom State since inception of democracy in 1999. He applauded Governor  Emmanuel for Transiting a Civil service dependent State to an enviable economically stable and industrialize State.

Hear him “At the Federal level where Insecurity has taken over Nigerian. Schools  have been shot down as a result of banditry. But, in Akwa Ibom State, God has given us peace under the sterling leadership of Gov. Udom Emmanuel. For these and lots more, we cannot take it for granted to stand bold and support and whosoever the Governor will bring out as his successor”.

The National Legal Adviser of the umbrella party, further called on those who are yet to register in the ongoing Permanent Voters Card registration exercise to take full advantage of the ongoing exercise so as to have their rights protected during elections.

The inaugurated committee had Hon. Frank Archibong as Coordinator,While a former House Member,  Hon. Ayang Ayang is to serve as Secretary. Other members include, Member, Representing Eket State Constituency, Hon. David Lawrence, former Commissioner for Health, Dr Dominic Ukpong, Eket Council Chairman, Hon. Akan Tommey, State Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party, Barr. Akpadiaha Ebitu, Chapter Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Eket, Hon. Emman Mbong, among others.
